I'm the author of the children's picture book 'Jana's Brightly Coloured Socks'. This is a heartwarming story of friendship, kindness and inclusion, featuring a character with Down syndrome. The book is geared to children aged 4 to 8. In the story, Jana has just learned how to put her socks on all by herself. To celebrate her new skill, she gets loads of brightly coloured socks as a gift from mum and dad. What happens when Jana shows her favourite pair to everyone at school? Join Jana on a fun-filled journey as she discovers what it means to be a true friend and the real value of kindness. This book encourages children to embrace differences and similarities within us. Socks were deliberately chosen in this story to reference the extra chromosome in Down syndrome. Chromosomes are shaped like socks. Even though we all have chromosomes that make us who we are, we are still all remarkably unique. The book is available in paperback and hardback. Accompanying child activity and educational material is available on the author website.

The book is available in hardback and paperback. I would offer a15% discount - the hardback at $27 (RRP normally $32) and the paperback at $17 (RRP normally $21). A free bookmark would accompany each purchase. There is a pack of fact cards about Down syndrome that are kid-friendly. Those are available free to download from my website but if you would like a physical copy they cost $10.

  • My Mummy Loves Fudge!

My Mummy Loves Fudge is a fun book for both mum and child to read. It reminds the child how much their mummy is there for them throughout the day and night, and it gives mum a chance to giggle while she reads along. Parents are sick of the same old stories about letters, numbers, love and cuddles. It’s time for something a little cheekier. We deserve it.

We all have a favourite dessert! Pudding, cookies, cupcakes or jelly? My mummy’s favourite dessert is *fudge. I know this because she talks about it all the time. Several times a day. Sometimes several times an hour. She wants it so bad that sometimes she yells for it!

*Fudge stands for something a little cheeky only mums and dads will get.

CODE is FDVIP and will get you 20% off!
